Football

Today is all about football.  I received these socks from my grandchildren last Christmas.  I saved them all year long just for today!
Our tomatoes...just the little ones...
Elephant ear flowers...
Dinner...tacos
...and a big salad for me.

TGIF

The frogs are croaking, the lighting is crackling across the lake and TGIF for a 3 day weekend!
The above picture was taken at 9:00 last night.  The lighting lit up the sky.

The 1978 Lincoln Continental Mark IV  that I featured on my blog back in June was hit by a semi- truck.  The driver, a good friend and customer of FAR is okay.
Before...
 After...

With no rain the last few days the mechanic was able to mow down at the lake. :)
 My view tonight...

Someone fishing...
Dinner...
Zucchini carrots, potatoes, mushrooms and a salad. Below the mechanic also had a lamb chop.

Wednesday

This morning I took a customer and old friend home. He has a beautiful fish pond full of big Koi.

He also had some of my mother-in-law's stain glass.  I guess her glass is all over this town. She was very generous about making it for people she liked.

The twin had fun watching a couple of his trees being taken down.
And my son did not have fun fending off Black Widow Spiders today.
Dinner...
Shrimp, zucchini, carrots, celery, red bell peppers over Soba noodles and Swiss chard.

A few years ago my friend Setuh tried to educate me on the health reasons for soaking nuts and seeds before eating them...I resisted...after reading My New Roots Blog on why this is the way to eat nuts and seeds I decided to try doing so on my daily breakfast of walnuts, steel oats, flax seeds and chia seeds.

I soaked the walnuts overnight.

I have to say the walnuts were delicious and much to my surprise they were crunchy. I will be doing this from now on.

My morning view at FAR...a tiny moon.

We also work on small motor homes at FAR...Just the right size for a road trip. (Hint...Hint)
I found this lure.
Dinner...
Pork patty, brown rice with okra, celery, onions and red bell peppers, a mushroom piece from my plate and half an avocado.
...and homemade fudge from a friend and customer...

Juicing

I had lunch with my friend Martha today...she mentioned she was on a 10 day juice fast.
I have been in the mood to have a green juice lately so I decided to bring out my Mr. Juicer Jr.
My mother-in-law bought it.  It was hers, she would use it for awhile then pass it on to me.  I would use it awhile then give it back to her. We passed it back and forth over the years.  I had it when she passed away so I guess it is mine now.  Sure do miss her.

I used ideas from several different recipes. I settled on celery, zucchini, cucumbers, kiwi, pear, spinach and parsley.

I, of course loved it, the mechanic said he liked fruit smoothies better.  So I will keep trying to find what variety of vegetables he will like.
Was it a pain to clean up?  Well, yes but cooking usually is labor intensive, nothing new there.

Today the twin was shiner fishing.

Dinner...
Salmon, green beans, red kale with potatoes.
