So...Gary and I have needed rain...2 inches in one hour should do it...

I did a little mulching at the shop last Sunday...only cause the young man who was going to do it for me never showed up...

One very large eye bolt...
Dinner...
Barbecue chicken, artichoke, avocado and a melody of orange and purple carrots, mushrooms, onions and yellow squash.

Happy Memorial Day!

It was a beautiful Memorial Day morning...just a tad bit of fog...

Since our front lawn has decided it wasn't going to grow grass anymore...Gary and I have been brainstorming what to replace the grass with...we knew we wanted edibles...we also knew we have to rebuild the soil. So when a friend of ours told us about straw gardening we googled it and decided to try it on a small scale. Not only would it grow vegetables but it would build the soil back up.
This is us today at the Tractor Supply store in Gainesville...it was a very cool store...

We think we need two more bales of straw...these were smaller than we imagined.
Straw, cow manure and dirt
Dinner...
Grilled lamb chops, cauliflower rice with kale.

Sunday

Our first Gardenia...
Looks like the grandchildren are having a great Memorial Day weekend...

We need rain...so Chris had fun sending me this picture of his little shower this afternoon...
After reading "The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up and Spark Joy"...I decided to show respect to my socks...and fold them in half instead of balling them up as Marie Kondo suggested...
Gary doesn't care how his look or feel!
Dinner...
Spaghetti and pole beans
 ...and homemade Lara bars...
My view tonight...

The pecan grove had some bird activity today...Gary has always called them cow birds...I guess on the ranch these birds followed the cows...

My rope plant in bloom...

Chris sent me  double rainbow photos this afternoon...

Gary had a little minor incident...I only had to use five butterfly band aids...
Dinner...

TGIF

The report from Stacy is the grandchildren did extremely well in their wedding duties!

The flower girl...
The ring bearer...
The proud parents...
A family friend of Gary's childhood stopped by the shop to show how wonderful  her 92 year old mother looks and is doing...
...and I had lunch with my very dear friend of many, many years...Happy Birthday Martha, I love you!
Lunch was delicious...we both had the same...
Lightly fried flounder, Gouda cheese grits and spinach.

Our princess will be the flower girl in her uncle Mark's wedding this weekend.
Connor will be in it as well.
I enjoyed this bumper sticker that was on the minivan that we were working on at the shop...
This is how you get a car in the shop when it doesn't have a wheel...you call your buddies at Max's towing...
Looks like we are on the gluten free band wagon...Gary's RA is so much better these days...
Dinner...
Hamburgers, spinach and a salad
They are growing...
