New Years Eve

I worked until noon today.  So I just played the rest of the day, waiting to cook dinner for the boys.

 A dreary day...
We still have roses...
I'm enjoying catching up with one of my favorite blogs...STILL.
I have started looking at nature more because of this blog.  I found this cool twig...only I have no idea what I find...not even what kind of tree it came from.  I guess she spends as much time on research as finding and photographing her finds.  Oh well, I can aspire.

Picture from the twin...my sister-in-law...and a one pound speck she caught.
...and a picture from my son...Giant stinging nettle plant.
Dinner tonight....the mechanic and our son...
the twin and the son's boss...
Dinner...
Steak, mash potatoes and a salad

The clean up had to be done outside.
The mechanic and Q did the dishes and Chris got the fireworks ready.

Sunday

Most of today we had rain...early this morning...
...but by this afternoon it was gorgeous. I took these pictures while talking on the phone to my daughter.

The bathroom tile work has started.  The tile guys were here from 8 am to 6 pm Saturday.  They will grout Monday.  I love how the tile makes the bathroom look larger.
The tile cutter.
We had the boys over for dinner Saturday.  The mechanic fried fish outside and I made salads.

 We ate wherever we could.
Fried Bass, lettuce salad, tomato in mayo salad and a Waldorf salad

TGIF

For $4.29 you can buy lighter wood at Wards.  If we still had a fireplace we would use it to start a fire.  Since it's gone I will keep it around for the smell.

These pictures are from our Tampa trip...view from our hotel room.

...all the cars...where in the world is everyone going, the grand kids and I wondered?
Addie wanted to make my hair pretty.

I sure do miss cooking and eating my own food!

Not much happening today...the mechanic and I went to work...seemed like everyone else had the day off.

The mechanic's favorite way to eat chicken (beside fried) is to cook it outside on the grill...beer butt chicken...so he thought we should try a beer but turkey.  I bought the smallest turkey I could find which was around 10lbs.  It cooked for three hours and was moist and delicious.

Tonight back to our remodel staple...salad and sandwich.

Christmas was cold for Florida, so the twin treated us to a fire in his fireplace.

Nice, but I don't regret removing ours.

I'm starting to think about New Year resolutions.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

We received this in the mail...from the other grandparents.
Christmas Cactus...

Pictures from my grandchildren...

  Cards...
No Christmas tree this year due to the remodel...but we still have roses...I even love the roses as they slowly fade ...
6lb cat fish...from the twin
It helps in catching fish when you own all these rods and reels...
