Sunday

I ordered and received my new kitchen gadget...Instant Pot...A 5-quart electric pressure cooker.
I have seen these used for making stock.  I make my own stock. This requires hours of cooking...the cooking smell bothers the mechanic...he has a good sense of smell to begin with and the medication for his RA intensifies this sense.

I decided to make a chicken stock to test the pot out.  Leftover chicken bones, chicken feet, onion, leak, celery, carrots and parsley went into the pot. I cooked it at medium pressure for 90 minutes.

 Finished product...
It gelled just like it was supposed to.
I've started freezing my stock in glass jars.
Today I cooked my artichoke. Steamed it in 10 minutes instead of one hour.
The twin sent me this picture of the family heirloom cleaver. Scary looking thing!
My morning view...
I love this...It would look good in Chris' house...His orchid collection is growing!

I took her to the car wash...so much pollen...Yes, I was bored and took pictures.

A customer of the mechanic told me she made zucchini noodles with this nifty gadget.
So naturally I had to buy one and try it.
There is a small side or a thicker side to chose from.

Lunch...The zucchini cooked up fast and was delicious.

We had a nice shower at the lake.

Wednesday

This was my morning view at my bother's house while delivering oatmeal/banana muffins.

This cool piece of equipment was scraping our lime-rock road.
The mechanic bought me a new ceramic knife. $35 at Publix...it's the best!

 Dinner...
Buffalo patties with onions, tomato and mushrooms; collard green with leak; golden beets in a vinaigrette and half an avocado.

Last Saturday the mechanic and I had dinner with the twin and sister-in-law.  He caught a 7 pound Largemouth bass.  Normally he would release such a large female...but it was gut hooked...and he couldn't save her.

This large fish needed special tools to cut it into steaks.

He fried the steaks...they were delicious!
We enjoyed a beautiful evening.

 Dinner tonight...
Salad, grilled drumsticks and spaghetti squash.
