Wednesday

rainy afternoon

Chris had his bilateral hernia surgery yesterday...I'm a pro at waiting in a hospital waiting room...NFRH...bring plenty to read, have your phone to play on, water and food...and treat yourself to a latte...

Before surgery...

After surgery...

Thanks to everyone for their prayers and concerns for Chris. He is doing well but in a lot of pain. But rest assured Gary and I are taking good care of him😉

doc said it will be a long recovery
as he had problems with the
hernia surgery last year
my hernia scars and most other people's scars go in an angle up and down
or now they have robotic surgery
so it's weird to see his scars in this direction
super glue is the best

So...my washing machine has been spinning off balance...called our repair people and they sent out this 13 year old kid😄or so he looked...

I enjoyed seeing all the positions he had to get into...I felt like I was watching our techs at the shop.

Gary used to repair all our appliances
but these days the floor is a long way down

hopefully all fixed
as i love my old machine and
do not want to upgrade
Dinner...

stew and broccoli

millet, zucchini, onions, mushrooms and carrots

I love our wind chime...sounds like we are at church...

Well hell has frozen over...we had a simple dinner and Gary volunteered to do the dishes!

i think there were three dishes
2 forks
one knife

here he is trying to figure out how to start the dishwasher😆

Sunday

i don't normally drink my coffee down at the lake
today was an exception

Oat groat for breakfast...

for at least the last 20 years i have had steel oats for breakfast
after having a fun conversation with a lady at Wards
i decided to try different whole grains
i started with something easy and close to what i was already used to
one cup oat groats and three cups of water
bring to a boil, place a lid on it and leave it overnight
warm it up next morning

i add
walnuts
flax seeds
chia seeds
hemp hearts
turmeric, ginger, cayenne pepper, black pepper and cardamon
love it, as it is much creamier than steel oats
but i agree it doesn't look very appetizing

refrigerate the rest as it makes enough for several days,
reheat
quick and simple

Cleaned the shop today...

love being alone at the shop

Stopped by Chris'... had to admire this flowering orchid...

Dinner...

corn bread
Gary's favorite

salad
cauliflower, and green pea dressing
in case i haven't said it enough
Gary likes his beef
rare
rare London boil, corn bread, peas and cauliflower
