Monday

It was a beautiful day.  82 degrees.

Seven days until April 15!!!
Last week NBC news reported on identity theft being on the rise.  This seems to be true.  I am in my seventh tax season. Last year we had two clients; this year we have had three clients who had their tax returns declined because they had already been filed by someone else. Protect your social security number...as best as you can and it helps to file early.

Today at my mother's house her bird nest had two more eggs.  I can't wait until they hatch.  It is rare for short me to get a good nest picture.

I have a bird/egg nest collection.  These nests were abandoned, most of them were found in our boat over the years.

This is the largest...I need two pictures.

The mechanic even found a small egg in a turtle shell in our yard.

Dinner tonight...

Craw-fish, onions, tomatoes, kale in a tomato sauce over brown rice.  Avocado and red leaf lettuce salad.

The mechanic and I had a great time in Tampa with the grand kids, their parents and the other in-laws.  I left my camera's upload plug in Tampa so I only have few pictures that I took with my phone. Pictures of their new home will have to come from my daughter's blog when she finds the time to post.  They are so busy with lots to do.

We also celebrated Addie's birthday...She loved her gift from Chris.
Connor, Addie and I watching Walt Disney's Cinderella.  Addie loves all things to do with princesses.

The mechanic declared there will be no more frost this year, so the temporary greenhouse came down today with the help of our son.  It's nice to have it gone and have more space.

The banana  trees are coming back nicely.

Another Amaryllis bloomed. It's a nice color, but I prefer the red ones.

It's funny how two plants located next to each other,  planted in the same soil mix, getting the same sun light and being the same variety are growing at two different rates.

I received a cute picture on my grandson eating breakfast out with his parents and other grandparents.

And my granddaughter...not only is she a foodie but now she is a techie...

I have been wanting to try Jerusalem Artichokes for awhile now. I love artichokes and after reading about them in my "Roots" cookbook I finally found them at Wards. According the my cookbooks they taste like artichokes...and they do!

Dinner...

Chicken cooked with onions, salad and Jerusalem Artichokes.

TGIF

The mechanic and I are going to see the grand kids and their parents and their new house tomorrow!

I saw this at my mother's house today...two eggs in a bird nest in one of her potted plants on her porch.

Our neighbor put up a new fence...they are trying to bring a little bit of the city to the country.  It is very nice.

We have a good old country fence. Cedar trees and wire and posts.

The new roses are doing good.

One week after planting...

Three weeks after planting...

We have a bloom on our older plant...

I am finding blooms everywhere.

The twin has the worst luck with trees falling in his yard and especially on his house.  Today was no different.   His large Sweet Gum tree limb fell in his yard...but mostly on his neighbor's yard.

I guess fish is on his menu tonight.

Dinner for the mechanic and I...

Red Snapper with veggies (broccoli, corn, zucchini, onions, tomatoes, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese).

Wednesday

This morning I took this picture before I left for work.

This afternoon the mechanic sent me these pictures as the Amaryllis had opened. Can you tell I have a better phone, therefore a better camera than him and his twin as they have the identical phones.

Not to be undone the twin has a rose before us.

I

I guess the rain didn't stop the twin from enjoying his lake.

Hard to see but since I got home so late the deer were everywhere. I must have seen around twenty on our lime-rock road and pecan grove.

My morning view while on my treadmill and running my Roomba...

I usually take a few pictures so I can choose the best one...but sometimes I like all of them!

And one of my favorite appliances...The Roomba...

Dinner...

Barbeque chicken, tomatoes, kale with onions and pumpkin cubes. I had a salad and artichoke instead of the chicken.

Roses

Most people do not realize the mechanic loves roses.  He has grown many varieties with Mr. Lincoln and Queen Elizabeth being the best suited for our yard. Mr. Lincoln has been hard to find in our area lately. So the mechanic actually went on line, found a site and ordered 11 Mr. Lincoln rose bushes. They arrived a couple of weeks ago.

He actually followed the planting instructions!. Some he planted in the dirt, some in pots and gave three to his twin...

I am happy to report a week after planting new growth has been spotted!

The twin planted his three all in one big pot.

I brought Elvis and Molly home this morning...They sure are good dogs, but the mechanic and I are over pets! We have had them all, dogs, cats, snakes, rats, mice, chickens, a monitor lizard, birds, turtles, rabbits, gerbils, fish...you get the picture.

Dinner...

Shrimp, zucchini, onion, green bell peppers and corn over wakame noodles.
